This weekend at The Roxy!!

Allright ya’ll, you’ve had all week to rest, time for a huge weekend with us here at
The Roxy… The fun starts tonight, Thursday, April 5, with Man Man and Simon Dawes, And The Ventriliquists. Man Man is an ecclectic spin on the quirkiness and creativity of earlier eccentrics Tom Waits and Frank Zappa, combined with modern musical innovation and experimentalism of Beck and many others. You’ll love them!! the show starts at 8:30…

Then Friday, April 6, I am very excited for amazing night of great music with Veruca Salt , special guest Charlotte Martin, and two of my very favorite bands on the planet right now Poets And Pornstars, and Hello Stranger!! This will be an awesome night of music that no true Los Angeles rock fan can miss… tickets are 13.00 advance, 15.00 day of show.

Saturday, we end this incredible weekend in perfect party style with Ringside, Whitestarr, Dirty Sweet and Grand Marquee, another outstanding rock bill… If you’ve been to a night like this here before then you know to get here early, get situated, and prepare yourself for a fantastic Saturday night of music and mischeif.

Hope we see you here!!

My girlfriend and I were really looking forward to Veruca Salt tonight.
This was our first time at The Roxy. We arrived around 9, strolled up to the bar, ordered some drinks. We noticed the bartenders wearing ear plugs and asked if they sold them. $2 she said, we thought it might be a good idea. We made our way close to the stage as Fawn Hawk was finishing up. Then it hit us - the music between the bands was ridiculously loud - good thing we had our earplugs. Hello Stranger came on and I thought that the sound would return to an enjoyable level… Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I felt like I was in the back of a car with two 18″ woofers turned up to 11. Guys, it was so bad that I could barely hear the vocals.
Everyone standing around me had their fingers in their ears when they weren’t cheering along with the band.
PLEASE do something about the levels - I tried to talk to the guy at the sound board and he just stared at me like I didn’t know what I was talking about… We ended up leaving before Veruca Salt came on because it was just unbearable.
The Roxy is a great venue, you get fabulous bands, but no band will sound half as good as they should because of this problem.
