The month of Camp Freddy Mayhem has become this Rock N Roll machine that has been the talk of the town! It’s taken over like no one could have ever imagined. It started off great as we were so excited to be able to hold one of our Roxy contests to find the lucky openers - which allowed local bands to actually warm up the stage for Freddy. What a great opportunity. And now, we’ve had FIVE sold out shows - countless special guests - and killer set lists. Over the past 4 weeks, we’ve seen Tommy Lee, Terry Nunn, Chester of Linkin Park, Brandon Boyd of Incubus, Chino of the Deftones, Jerry Cantrell, Lemmy Kilmister, B-Real and Sen Dog, Tiffany, Metal Skool, Cory from Slipknot/Stone Sour, Tom Morrello as well as our house favorite Mark McGrath - to name a few! On top of the Sex Pistols Paul Cook, Glen Matlock and Steve Jones and GnR legends Duff and Slash! Insanity. We hate to rub it in, because the Freddy Finale tonight is of course sold out - but for the lucky, this show will take the cake! Every Thursday the chaos starts early - so make sure you stay tuned as Nic and I twitter the day away. We’ll keep you updated as always, on all the nitty gritty secrets. Thanks to all the guests and the guys - as well as the fans who have made the Roxy their nightlife staple for the month. We hope to see you all soon.

Foxboro Hot Tubs at The Roxy, OMG! What an exciting show!! This band has caused quite a buzz on the web and we cannot wait to see them live! Because of the demand on this show, you can only purchase tickets in person at The Roxy box office the day of the show. Tickets will be $20 cash and there is a two ticket maximum per person and both people must be together in line to receive the tickets. Have no fear tho, because we are allowing you to lineup starting 8am on the day of the show. So once you are in line and get to the door, you will buy your tickets and immediately proceed into The Roxy. Get ready to strut your stuff on the Sunset Strip and make an event out of it! Meet some fans in line…share stories…and make some new friends. Have no doubt, you will find some internet fame as I will undoubtedly be blogging the line in true Roxy fashion. We know their fans are traveling from near and far for this show - and we can’t wait to see you all! Also, a friendly reminder - no recording devices of any kind, no cameras and/or cell phones will be allowed into the show!

It hasn’t been long since the boys of Tokio Hotel came to visit…but we miss them! Lucky for us, their first ever US performance (at the Roxy of course) is well documented in their new youtube videos! It’s fun to relive the excitement - we cannot wait to have them back!
Today has been a really really great day! And as the girls and I start wrapping up our work, and get into party mode - we are a little sad! We don’t want this day to end. The energy in the office today was a little like summer vacation…we were a little giddy - everything about our day, and the band, and the crew has been the best EVER. We didn’t quite know what to expect - as we have a little language barrier going on - and we have been pleasantly surprised! The band is adorable - and from what they told us, the have loved being in sunny CA - even if just for a day or two. Now, we are sitting here listening to them sound check and they sound GREAT. Thanks to our neighbors who have been so patient with all the fans today - and our security who came out before the sun sets to make sure everyone was safe. We hope the international fans are having a legendary Roxy experience and they find us again one day on their travels back to the states!

It took us a while to narrow it down to our favorite four - we got so many amazing entries! In the end, we picked the ones that exemplified the true vibe of the night - and something that would catch the eye of the thousands and thousands of cars that cruise by us daily. So congrats if you were one of the lucky final four…you’re halfway there! Okay fans and friends, now’s your time to vote your mind!

As the Gimme Shelter tradition comes to an end…we can’t think of a better way to go out than with THIS lineup: PETE YORN, MATTHEW SWEET, SUSANNA HOFFS, DONOVAN FRANKENREITER, PHANTOM PLANET, PETER HIMMELMAN, JESCA HOOP, AND MEGAN JACOBS!

Thanks to the LA Weekly, to Goldenvoice, to all the bands, artists and djs that rocked the streets of Downtown LA. And special thanks to all of our good friends (new and old) that stoped by our booth. You made Detour a blast. The Roxy Crew had a great time hanging at our tent that was disguised as a pink disco lounge. We handed out free tickets, stickers and, most popular, our homemade Pink Glowsticks to the thousands of smiling, happy, music loving people. It reminds me that sometimes you need to get out of the office and hit the road, even if it’s just to Downtown. Can’t wait for next year. Please feel to post your own pictures from Detour below.

Jon has been quietly building a strong grass-roots following over the last two years, criss-crossing North America on tour legs with O.A.R., Live, Dave Barnes, Matt Wertz, and (most recently this past summer) Sister Hazel, Cowboy Mouth, Susan Tedeschi, and fellow Island artist Marc Broussard. In addition to venues of every size and description, Jon has appeared before tens of thousands at such major outdoor festivals as Feeling Better Than Everfine (Cleveland), Ann Arbor [Michigan] Summerfest, Waterfest (Oshkosh, WI), Milwaukee Summerfest, Music In The Zoo (Apple Valley, MN), Northwest State College Fest (Archbold, OH), and (two weeks ago) the prestigious Lollapalooza get-together at Grant Park in Chicago.

…and so do we! And so does everyone who attended the show on Thursday night. Man Man decsended from Philly to a sold out Roxy and had the Sunset Strip buzzin. The capacity crowd was forced to move, jump, clap their hands and sing along. We were in the momentum of the groove and energy that Man Man was stiring up and pouring out. People were loving it. Thank you to The Ventriloquists and Simon Dawes for two awesome sets as well. Congrats to Rock Insider for their first “presents” at The Roxy being a total winner. Way to go Jax!! (Thanks for taking a chance on us. W e have a lot more great shows to come). It was good to see a lot of new faces at The Roxy. I know for all of us it’s the start of something good.

It’s Raining Mans
We’re taking the auspicious occasion of our Philly bros Man Man playing at the Roxy in West Hollywood tonight to repost their Gen F from F28, and also to let the fans out there know that asking for “Man Man” a couple blocks south of the Roxy will make you about a thousand brand new best friends. Either way you’re gonna have a good time.
