We all fell hard for John Corbett as hunky Aiden on Sex and The City - and he was such a fox on cult favorite Northern Exposure - and now, he’s here at The Roxy with his band! It’s a hot alt/country mix that we know will be awesome. It’s his only LA show and we are so excited to show him what the Roxy is all about. Along with local favs Tony Lucca and Leroy Powell - check it out!

The Vacation are of course, regulars on the Strip and never fail to entertain…and lastly, THE MOONEY SUZUKI! It’s been a while since they’ve played out here, and is definitely grounds to celebrate….

Gimme, gimme, gimme - the holidays are all about the gimmes and the givies. But only “Gimme Shelter” at The Roxy givies as much as it gimmes. And with everyone from Mandy Moore to Pete Yorn to Phantom Planet playing this year (the final concert after 16 years), that’s something to be thankful for.
What: Gimme Shelter – a rock show with a purpose. Featuring : Pete Yorn, Mandy Moore, Phantom Planet, Mathew Sweet and others to go unplugged and rock The Roxy. Concert benefits the Spectrum Program (for autistic children) at New Roads School in Santa Monica (a rockin’ independent college prep schoold).
Why: School of Rock didn’t end with Jack Black.
When: Tues. December 11th. 7 p.m.
Where: The Roxy Theatre, 9009 West Sunset Blvd. (310-278-9457)
So, as if the Last Annual Gimme Shelter Benefit wasn’t already the hottest bill - it somehow keeps getting better! We already have our dear Heko’s favorite accounted for- in the boys of Phantom Planet, and our very own Megan Jacobs is ready to rock - and now, I am very happy to announce that MY personal favorite, Mandy Moore has just been added. So, grab your tickets, because they are getting sparse. It will definitely be a night to remember!

“I like to celebrate the possible, the highest, the best of possibilities for human beings, It’s easy to be pessimistic given the state of the world. But I’m inspired by people like Martin Luther King, Jr. and Gandhi who had the ability to transform. Collectively we create an enormously powerful force that can change the world and overcome any obstacle.” -Raul Midon. We are so happy to have him back on our stage.
Portishead’s former DJ Andy Smith first met group frontman Geoff Barrow while the two were at school; he eventually joined Barrow’s touring band as support DJ. He also appeared with the Fugees, Republica, and Prophets of the City, and released his debut mix album, The Document, in early 1998. A follow-up was five years in coming, but The Document II proved just as varied and exciting as the first. - John Bush, All Music Guide
DJ Andy Smith is playing The Roxy this coming Wednesday, October 3rd, with Troublemaker and J-Logic. Get your tickets now!
