Everyone is already tired of hearing me rave about John Corbett - but I just had to show them a little blog love! It’s always fun to check in with a cool group of guys enjoying a little time on the road. Everyone was in such good spirits last night, and it was really great to watch them rock out. John is definitely a new office favorite and we can’t wait until he visits us again!

When someone like Bryan Adams says “special guests,” you know it’s going to be huge. Because, he’s THAT cool. Aside from his amazing show on the Sunset Strip last night (3 encores!) - he played ALL the hits. Summer of ‘69 acoustic? Yes please. Cuts Like A Knife? Run To You? Heat of the Night? Check, Check and Check. The room was packed - it was rocking THEN out comes his special guests. BONNIE RAITT and KEITH URBAN!!! Words cannot explain what took place on the Roxy stage, check out this vid for a little taste! Now tell us, what was your favorite part?

We all fell hard for John Corbett as hunky Aiden on Sex and The City - and he was such a fox on cult favorite Northern Exposure - and now, he’s here at The Roxy with his band! It’s a hot alt/country mix that we know will be awesome. It’s his only LA show and we are so excited to show him what the Roxy is all about. Along with local favs Tony Lucca and Leroy Powell - check it out!

March was a big month here at The Roxy. We had a lot of great shows but these were among our favorites. Rooney, Billy Boy on Poison, Young Dubliners, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Switches, John West and Matthew Santos, The Vacation, The Mooney Suzuki, AJ MCLEAN, Presidents of the United States of America, Kaki King, Candlebox, Dolly Parton and The Expendables all kept us wanting more. A lot of you have been taking some great pictures so we thought we would share them with the world. We hate to brag, as we know it’s only a few of the luckiest folks that get to attend -but it’s been years and years since she’s been here, and now in celebration of her new record - we are happy she came back to us!

Formed in 1991 at Chico State in Northern California, The Mother Hips have run the gamut of experiences as a band - from dorm band to buzz band to cult favorite. They took an extended break which nearly became a permanent one after the 2001 album’s release, but decided to reconvene a few years ago, first playing shows, and now as a full-fledged band, writing, recording and releasing new music.
Their new album, Kiss The Crystal Flake, reintroduces the world to The Mother Hips’ own brand of California rock, blending a natural psychedelia with their own 21st century musicianship and songwriting.
