When your job involves starring at a calendar, it’s amazing how fast it goes by. It seems that we blinked and poof - 2009 was gone. In all the chaos we couldn’t put together a proper recap in time, but this year has been one for the books. We welcomed everyone from The Dead Weather, Pete Yorn, LMFAO, and My Chemical Romance - to Weezer, The All-American Rejects, The Mighty Boosh, Dead By Sunrise, Camp Freddy, and Shwayze. Had ground breaking shows that helped make La Roux, Mayer Hawthorne, Noah and the Whale, Mike Posner, and The Temper Trap names around town and so so so many more in between. We are excited to continue you to bring you some of your favs, as well as introduce you to some new tunes you haven’t been hipped to yet. Thanks again for such a great year - as always find us on twitter @theroxy, and on facebook (facebook.com/theroxy)! Viva 2010!!

One of the true indie darlings of 2009 are taking the stage next week - and we cannot wait to see them live. We’ve been hearing the buzz from the Eastsiders for a while - and they are even featured on everyone’s favorite soundtrack (’Twilight’ of course!). Check it next week, along with our local favs Chasing Kings and Amaad Wasif. KROQ Locals Only never fails!

A rad band and close friends…we just wanted to throw it out in the virtual world that Chi Cheng is in our thoughts and prayers. A friendly reminder folks, to live life to the fullest and not take anything for granted! For the full story from the LA Times blog, head here.
The Roxy witnessed a classic, an epic, a legendary show…call it what you want, but in our minds it was one of the best hip hop performances ever. Big, big ups to Myspace for giving us such a treat. And Mulatto, you guys can hold it down, we want you back soon. We have lots of shots from this show, so watch over the next couple of days for more. In the mean time check out the first of the bunch from our pro EV.
Our main lady, Ms. Megan Jacobs had to take a break from the booking grind as she serves not one, not two, but THREE days of jury duty. As she reported to day three, she ran into our very own house photog Erik Voake. What a party! What a great example they have set - serve your civil duty folks! Plus, those badges are pretty rad.
So since the last blog, the line has grown substantially! We’ve heard some great stories of traveling near and far, and we’re happy to have found out that this show is the only all ages show on the Foxboro Tour!
