2009 has truly been a year of establishing community for us and The Sunset Strip and because of that - one of our favorite creations of 2009 was the wonderful TWEET CRAWL! We broke down the virtual walls of Twitter, and built real life relationships with our neighbors and patrons. Showing off the gems of The Strip has been an amazing treat…we can’t wait to do it one more time in 2009. The participants this time around are veterans, The Standard (@standardhwood), The Comedy Store (@thecomedystore), The Viper Room (@theviperroom), The Roxy (@theroxy) and welcome newcomer - The Hustler Store (@hothustlerhoney)! Its been an amazing year for us here at The Roxy. We’ve had some incredible shows - from My Chemical Romance to Weezer, Camp Freddy to Shwayze - and everything in between. We watched the Sunset Strip transform for the Sunset Strip Music Festival, and joined efforts with our Strip neighbors (The Viper Room and The Comedy Store) to start the now infamous Tweet Crawl. We know it’s the end of the year, and financially its been a tough one for us ALL - so we wanted to make sure we brought you a New Years Eve show, that wouldn’t break the bank- and that would allow everyone to take the night off and start the new year off right!! Mike Posner was one of our breakout shows of 2009 - and we couldn’t think of a anyone better than him, to be the last man on the stage ‘09…and the first of ‘10. An epic show last night. John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Nirvana, and Josh Homme of Eagles of Death Metal and Queens of the Stone Age - combined forces last night to create history on our stage.
