No Britney Spears will not be performing at The Roxy on December 11. But we did get a little love from a guest blogger named Olivia Giovetti. Thanks for the love Olivia!
Gimme, gimme, gimme - the holidays are all about the gimmes and the givies. But only “Gimme Shelter” at The Roxy givies as much as it gimmes. And with everyone from Mandy Moore to Pete Yorn to Phantom Planet playing this year (the final concert after 16 years), that’s something to be thankful for.
What: Gimme Shelter – a rock show with a purpose. Featuring : Pete Yorn, Mandy Moore, Phantom Planet, Mathew Sweet and others to go unplugged and rock The Roxy. Concert benefits the Spectrum Program (for autistic children) at New Roads School in Santa Monica (a rockin’ independent college prep schoold).
Why: School of Rock didn’t end with Jack Black.
When: Tues. December 11th. 7 p.m.
Where: The Roxy Theatre, 9009 West Sunset Blvd. (310-278-9457)
When Mickey Avalon rang in the New Year of ‘07 - we knew it would set the scene for one of the best years in Roxy history. And we were right! 2007 was a crazy year for us - we had some of the most legendary acts hit our stage - and some of the hippest up and comers. So now, we want to celebrate the end of an amazing year - and usher in 2008 in TRUE Roxy Fashion. With the hottest rock show - and biggest party of course! We cannot be more excited to host the ultimate in New Year’s Eve festivities! THE EAGLES OF DEATH METAL are definitely the band to take us out in rock n roll fashion!
Their’s never been a better time to party it up like Little Radio rockstars at The Roxy Theatre than with the Eagles Of Death Metal featuring Jesse “Boots Electric” Hughes, Joshua “Babyduck” Homme, Darlin’ Dave Catching and Brian “Big Hands” O’Connor. This evening will be hosted by our friends at Little Radio, who really know how to throw one HUGE New Years party!
One of the most notorious party spots on the Sunset Strip - On The Rox has been home to some of the most legendary Rock N Roll happenings EVER. It’s a small space that knows how to shake it! It’s normally a 21+ room, but for the show on 12/7 - we didn’t want to leave anyone out! Make sure to catch all the bands - which includes “We Shot The Moon” featuring members from Sherwood and the former singer of Waking Ashland.
No one knows how to make the whole room a party quite like our boys in Cowboy Mouth! They are a band we welcome back time and time again because they are soooo much fun and ALWAYS bring it Roxy style. Don’t miss out.
With the distinct style of music that combines elements of funk, soul, and blues - we could not be more excited to have Nikka back on our stage! Tickets will go onsale tomorrow 11/29-thru both ticketmaster and our box office (310 278 9457). Don’t miss out!
