The Shys (previously The Gun Shys) are a five piece rock band from Los Angeles, California. Under their previous name they released The Gun Shys EP. Their current line-up consists of Kyle Krone, Alex Kweskin, Chris Wulff, Riley Stephenson and Tony Cupito. Their debut CD, titled Astoria, was released on iTunes on June 6 2006, and in stores July 11 2006.

“Creating the best music we can and making it available to our fans has always been our number one priority in this group and now we are free to do just that. This means more new music more often for us to share with you. We have taken all matters into our own hands thus obtaining 100% creative control. We have built our own recording studio and are currently in the process of recording a brand new EP. The plan is to wrap up the recording by the end of the month and have the record available to everyone sometime in late August or early September, followed by tours of North America and the UK. Along with the record we have the freedom to release new videos, merch and other knick knacks straight from the band to you. It feels incredible to be free. Thank you all so much for your continued support and love. Because of you we can continue to make records and play our music as far as it takes us.
Always grateful,
Kyle, Alex, Chris, Riley, & Tony
-The Shys”

-on being released from their contract in July of 2007 with Sire Records.

Roxy Love for Courtney Love

Comments

Always a Roxy favorite, Courtney Love graced the Roxy stage last night for a special Myspace performance.

Our good friend Perez Hilton had this to say:

Much improved!

Courtney Love performed at the Roxy on Sunset and thankfully avoided wearing anything like THIS.

From what we hear, the show was pretty epic.

And Popbytes, our new friend and a great blog, had an amazing time and had this to say:

my headache has subsided and now as promised i’ve got a bit more info (along w/ some pics & a small bit of video) on courtney love’s ’secret’ show (sponsored by myspace) at the roxy last night! (a totally kick ass small venue - and where i first saw amy winehouse in person) i arrived around 10:30pm - lots of people outside mixed in with general sunset blvd craziness - luckily i bypassed the lines and went straight inside (through the side door) to claim my spot! of course the main floor was totally packed but thankfully i was able to wedge myself front & center with only a few people in front of me! i quickly sucked down my drink which did give me a slight buzz right before ms. love took the stage around 11pm - the curtains lifted and there my rock goddess was - with a lit cigarette already hanging from her pouty lips. i had an excellent time and for courtney love being 43 - bitch has still got it - i sometimes can’t put my finger on why i love her so much (along with why i have a tattoo in her honor) but let me just tell you - she fucking rocks and i will love her until the end - she just does it for me - skinny or plump!

As the brain child of incredibly talented musician, Billy Morrison, Circus Diablo came about. Circus Diablo is a hard/alternative rock band composed of former and present talent from The Cult, Fuel, Camp Freddy: Billy Morrison, Billy Duffy, Ricky Warwick, and Brett Scallions. This is not your run of the mill side project. This is a group of musicians dedicated to getting their “voices” heard. In July 2007 their debut album will drop. We expect great things here. Currently on tour with Ozzfest, the band is stopping by The Roxy for a special LA show, complete with Spread performance artists and tattoos by The Shamrock Social Club.
