Beth Hart is a singer who became famous with the hit “L. A. Song”.
Beth Hart dropped out of high school to focus on her songwriting. Her vocal style has been described as raw and passionate, with some similarities to Joan Armatrading and Janis Joplin, but differing from her contemporary folksingers. Recorded while she was heavily addicted to drugs, in Immortal she projected a tone of anger, confusion, and imbalance.

Man its good to be back in California. I’ve been having one big summer party
since we got home on the 4th of July. I was just at Sam from phantom planet’s
wedding over the weekend. It was really insane and the music was awesome. Simon
Dawes (the band) learned a ton of covers and special guest singers included
Olivia Newton John, Jimmy Buffet, Adam Levine, Alex Greenwald, and yours
truly…I sang “cupid” by Sam Cooke. It was a nice taste of the performer’s life
but I’m already bored and ready to play again. See you Monday night!

We are honored that the Roxy will be hosting our record release
party/show. This album has been a long time in the works, and we are
thrilled to finally be putting it out. The residency gigs at the Roxy
in April were the highlight of our year so far….we are attempting to
top all 4 of those gigs next monday night!!!

As said in their official myspace bio, “Hailing from Chicago’s North Side, The Redwalls have been playing together for the better part of a decade. “We never set out to reinvent the wheel. All music is thievery; some just disguise it better than others. We make the music that we want to make, the way that we want to make it. And we hope that we are lucky enough to have people want to hear it.â€
As said in their official myspace Bio, “For more than 15 years, the members of the New Orleans-based band Cowboy Mouth have embraced, embodied, preached and shouted the joys of their hometown, sharing a slice of Mardi Gras heaven with fans around the world.
Their 11th recording, Voodoo Shoppe (Eleven Thirty Records), is their most critically acclaimed album to date. The Pittsburgh Tribune stated, Long known for live shows, the band has just released “Voodoo Shoppe,” an album which comes close to matching the group’s high-voltage performances. They go on to say, Every song seems to have one irresistible hook to draw in listeners. The Boston Phoenix called it, Inspiring stuff, and still a hell of a party record.”

Ask the Jonas Brothers who they’re hoping to turn into fans with their new self-titled CD and they won’t say “everybody.†But that’s precisely what they’ll mean. “We’re aiming for people our age,†says 17-year-old Joe. “But we also wanna get kids younger than us,†adds 14-year-old Nick. “And older people, too,†19-year-old Kevin pipes up.
The highly anticipated follow-up to the New Jersey siblings’ 2006 debut—which featured the TRL hit “Mandyâ€â€”The Jonas Brothers is sure to make good on the band’s goal: It’s a high-energy pop-punk disc overflowing with insanely catchy hooks, muscular guitar fuzz and mature songwriting that reveals just how much growing up the boys have done since we last heard from them.

Beth Hart’s voice stirs more than the emotions. It is a uniquely powerful vocal presence that paints pictures, parses prose and sculpts statues in every song. While it is difficult to define the essence of great art, you sure know it when you hear it.
Beth’s remarkable artistry attracted superstar producers David Foster, Hugh Padgham and Mike Clink to collaborate with her on her very first album, 1996’s Immortal (Atlantic). Perhaps her gift for turning each song into a deeply personal communication between singer and listener was most evident on “L.A. Song,” her worldwide radio smash (a Top 5 AC hit in the U.S.) from her second album, 1999’s Sceamin’ For My Supper (Atlantic). Beth’s charismatic performances of the song on Leno, Letterman and Kilborn touched off strong audience reaction nationwide creating phenomenal spikes in sales and radio requests across the country. The fire in that very special voice seemed to engulf America. Apparently, you know it when you see it, as well.
