From a lineage of Honky Tonk Royalty one might expect some music reminiscent of grandpa. Hank III has very little interest in your typical “Country” album. All live performances infuse influences from his grandfather’s Nashville twang and Black Flag’s punk rage.
Gritty alternative rockers the Bangkok Five were birthed out of Hollywood, CA, during the first half of the 2000s. Their respect for D.I.Y. ethics had the guys — vocalist Frost, bassist Coatez, drummer Blanco, and guitarists Holcolm KS and Sweeney — self-releasing their EP, 10 the Hard Way, in spring 2005 before supporting it on the road with a tour self-booked by way of Web site extraordinaire Myspace.com. Sharing stages with various bands like Peaches, Hot Hot Heat, the Mooney Suzuki, and the Bronx, among others, the guys also performed at 2006’s South by Southwest festival in Austin. Their lively full-length Who’s Gonna Take Us Alive? arrived via Universal in late March of the same year. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide
As the brain child of incredibly talented musician, Billy Morrison, Circus Diablo came about. Circus Diablo is a hard/alternative rock band composed of former and present talent from The Cult, Fuel, Camp Freddy, and more. This is not your run of the mill side project. This is a group of musicians dedicated to getting their “voices” heard. In July 2007 their debut album will drop. We expect great things here.
Hailing from Peoria, Illinois, The Forecast exploded onto the indie-rock circuit in 2001. With their must-see live performances alongside bands like Planes Mistaken For Stars, Hey Mercees, The Jealous Sound, Motion City Soundtrack, and The Velvet Teen, they earned a rabid following in not only Peoria, but also the Midwest in general. The Forecast have a devastating live show and plan to share it with as many people as possible.

Strippers and gambling aren’t the only good things that Sin City birthed. The Higher, previously September Star, competed and won in 2002 winning video recording time on VH1’s annual Las Vegas Bike Battles. This Las Vegas band made good releasing two full length albums, “On Fire” and “Histrionics” and having featured videos on MTVu and Fuse Network. Summer of 2007 they accepted an amazing support spot on tour with Motion City Soundtrack and Sherwood.

Sherwood formed back in 2002 while attending Cal Poly State University. This quartet worked incredibly hard to push their way to the top - including landing a spot on the Vans Warped Tour as well as a national tour as direct support for Motion City Soundtrack… all without a little help from their friends. These guys worked their tushes off booking shows on their own, selling CDs on tour in order to stay on tour, among many other things. And to top it all of their music is stupendous!

The Binges are the next generation of old school rock and roll. This “gang of four” from the City of Angels put on a live show chuck-filled with fist pumping anthems that leaves hearts pounding and ears bleeding. Screaming melodies, two virtuoso sisters from Tokyo on guitar/bass and Skanky on drums play shout-along tunes that stick in your head for days. Each member has come from a unique background to join forces and bask in the glorious light of the almighty Gods of Rock: who reside in the hearts of us all. It’s been a long time since Los Angeles has had a band to brag about. The Binges seek to fill that void with their raw, energetic, and yes, honest rock and roll.
Pre-emptive to their tour with Maximo Park, MONSTERS ARE WAITING will be performing at The Roxy Theatre with a masterful line-up of bands: Mellowdrone (doing what will surely be an amazing acoustic set), Scientific Phenomenalist David Lovering of The Pixies (with an inspired magic show), Gliss, and Meho Plaza. Prepare to get your boots knocked off and get thrown against the wall for a night of pure enjoyment!
Famed virtuoso of screen and sound, Jason Schwartzman, released a solo project in March of 2007 featuring special guests, including Robert Schwartzman (Rooney), Sam Farrar (Phantom Planet) and Mike Einziger (Incubus). The show at The Roxy introduced Coconut Records live for the very first time…
Motion City Soundtrack isn’t your ordinary band. Embracing the hard core work ethic of playing hundreds of shows a year…along with spending some time on the road with powerhouse bands such as Blink 182 - these boys know how to take it upon themselves to make it happen! With several albums under their belt…and a new one the way…stay tuned!
The rock, hip-hop, and dance duo Junior Senior may be a U.K. darling, but the pair’s hearts remain in Jutland — their homeland in the western peninsula of Denmark. The group merged in 1995 after Ludo-X members Jesper “Junior” Mortensen and Jeppe “Senior” Laursen left the Copenhagen indie band. In 1998 Junior Senior was formed and the band inked a deal with Danish label Crunchy Frog. The two went on to record the infectious single “Move Your Feet,” which became the most played song in Denmark and eventually took over European radio. In 2003 the band released the critically lauded full-length D-D-D-Don’t Stop the Beat. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
