THIRD EYE GATHERING (3EG) www.3eg.org is a Non Profit Organization dedicated to supporting a community of artists and intellectuals of all mediums. They feature some of the best music and art in the Los Angeles area and they have a loyal following of attendees who appreciate esoteric art and unconventional topics like Sacred Geometry and Quantum Physics. 3EG has not done a show in over a year and a half and they are coming out of the shadows with a bang. Former Interscope recording artists, WOVEN, have been in the studio for over two years and they are making 3EG the very first gig of many, to showcase what they have been creating, locked in that studio. In addition, Reality-Entertainment recording artists, DEADBOLT ZEN, is taking this opportunity to use 3EG as a vehicle to celebrate their CD release. ANIMATRONICS and THE BLAME will also be gracing the stage, making this an awesome night for music and art lovers. A 3EG event is also known for stunning visuals courtesy of WICKS LIQUID LIGHT SHOW. 3EG’s goal is to create a community of musicians, artists, thinkers and people who appreciate art of all mediums and give them a permanent home where they can bond and exchange ideas. 3EG will also showcase a few of the best “underground artists” in the LA area like Cam De Leon and Tony Koehl.
3EG started as a yearly three day event of like-minded thinkers getting together to celebrate live music, philosophy and art under a unique culture. With four years of successful experiences under their belt, they are now ready to bring this unique experience to The Roxy. Their long term plan is to ground 3EG to its own space, which will serve as the organization headquarters to help underprivileged and disenfranchised youth/adults by acting as a community center for the arts. Because their organization is grounded in Music, Art and Philosophy, they have a unique message to offer people who may have had a difficult time connecting with other people who have other interests. Please go to www.3eg.org to learn more about the organization and events. Lastly, please go to groups.myspace.com/3EG to see more pictures.

THE LIFE FORCE TRIO

SLAMMIN ALL BODY BAND

I caught Slammin backstage at North Beach Jazz Fest last summer.
And acting as MC and host of the night…the InFamous MikeThePoet.
MikeThePoet sums up my east-side experience for he was ringleader of the Roundtable. MikeThePoet & The Poets of the Roundtable would host monthly events at 33 1/3 bookstore on the corner of Alvarado and Sunset that became critical sessions - like food to feed the fire - we all left inspired… MCs and Street Art, 40’s in brown bags outside the bookstore. Those were the days…. The Bonaventure like my compass - backdrop was always downtown LA.
MIKE THE POET

(last seen holding onto fake rock and tree while they appear to be spinning and drifting in a sea of Depeche Mode fans). This year, we’ve named it Coachmella. Lookin forward to chillin with y’all in the desert. So raise those incense sticks high in the air and turn up those radio dials….windows down..grace slick blaring to the sky…coachmella here we come.
and don’t sleep on the NEW ORLEANS JAZZ FESTIVAL. No better time than now to continue to show your support for one of America’s most amazing cities. Another yearly ritual of mine…and I must go. I love New Orleans.

…and so do we! And so does everyone who attended the show on Thursday night. Man Man decsended from Philly to a sold out Roxy and had the Sunset Strip buzzin. The capacity crowd was forced to move, jump, clap their hands and sing along. We were in the momentum of the groove and energy that Man Man was stiring up and pouring out. People were loving it. Thank you to The Ventriloquists and Simon Dawes for two awesome sets as well. Congrats to Rock Insider for their first “presents” at The Roxy being a total winner. Way to go Jax!! (Thanks for taking a chance on us. W e have a lot more great shows to come). It was good to see a lot of new faces at The Roxy. I know for all of us it’s the start of something good.
Here’s some posts on the show from myspace.com/wearemanman

It’s Raining Mans
We’re taking the auspicious occasion of our Philly bros Man Man playing at the Roxy in West Hollywood tonight to repost their Gen F from F28, and also to let the fans out there know that asking for “Man Man” a couple blocks south of the Roxy will make you about a thousand brand new best friends. Either way you’re gonna have a good time.

Allright ya’ll, you’ve had all week to rest, time for a huge weekend with us here at
The Roxy… The fun starts tonight, Thursday, April 5, with Man Man and Simon Dawes, And The Ventriliquists. Man Man is an ecclectic spin on the quirkiness and creativity of earlier eccentrics Tom Waits and Frank Zappa, combined with modern musical innovation and experimentalism of Beck and many others. You’ll love them!! the show starts at 8:30…
Then Friday, April 6, I am very excited for amazing night of great music with Veruca Salt , special guest Charlotte Martin, and two of my very favorite bands on the planet right now Poets And Pornstars, and Hello Stranger!! This will be an awesome night of music that no true Los Angeles rock fan can miss… tickets are 13.00 advance, 15.00 day of show.
Saturday, we end this incredible weekend in perfect party style with Ringside, Whitestarr, Dirty Sweet and Grand Marquee, another outstanding rock bill… If you’ve been to a night like this here before then you know to get here early, get situated, and prepare yourself for a fantastic Saturday night of music and mischeif.
Hope we see you here!!
